Ledbury Town Reserves’ second Herefordshire FA County League Division One meeting of the season against current second place holders Worcester United unfortunately had to be postponed this Wednesday evening at New Street, after a day of persistent heavy rain meant that the pitch was too waterlogged to play on.
With the fixture being yet to be re-arranged, this means that the Ledbury second string, maintaining a steady mid-table seventh place position in the league, will next entertain fifth-placed Tenbury United at New Street this coming weekend (KO 2:30pm).
The reserves will then end March the following Saturday with a first visit of the season to the Brimfield and Little Hereford Sports Club to face current eighth place holders Tenbury Town (KO also 2:30pm).
A 3-3 draw resulted against United at Palmers Meadow in the penultimate game before the Christmas break for David Butcher’s squad and the last game before the festive season for the hosts, with Tom Skittery and sixteen-year-old Jake Clueit scoring either side of an own goal from Tenbury as Ryan Morris picked up a brace for United with Michael Wood also on target for the blue and yellow shirts, even if team-mates Will Clutterbuck and Aaron Morris were booked by referee J. Cairns.
The Ledbury second string are yet to lock horns with Tenbury Town this season, after their scheduled first meeting of the season at New Street was postponed nearly a month ago due to a further waterlogged pitch this time caused by Storm Eunice.
