Ledbury Town Swifts’ latest scheduled Herefordshire FA County League Division Two encounter against mid-table Woofferton at the Ledbury Rugby Football Club Ross Road ground was postponed this weekend on account of the visitors being unable to field a side.
With the fixture yet to be re-arranged, this means that the Ledbury third string, tenth in the table although level on points with Tenbury United Colts just above them due to Tenbury suffering a three-point deduction for failing to fulfil a midweek fixture back in early November, currently have one further challenging game this month against current holders of the second spot Worcester United Reserves (KO 2:30pm at the Ross Road ground).
The Swifts, under the new caretaker management of familiar Ledbury goalkeeping coach Nick Blakeway, narrowly lost out 3-2 to Worcester at the Jewry Field back in early November, when a Harry Lock brace and a goal from substitute player Kieran MacDonald overcame the two goals for the visitors scored by Nat Dunk and substitute player Clayton Hodges.
